Security Threat: Kabba Bunu LGA Caretaker Chairman, Hon (Barr) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Directs Removal of Makeshift Parks

The Kabba Bunu LGA Caretaker Chairman, Barr Zacchaeus Dare Michael has directedall Taxi, Okada And Trailer parks to vacate the roads from UBA, Bus Stop Junction, Ayede Garage, Front Of Firstbank, Unity Bank Area To Kabba Police Area Command ExpresswayThe Chairman said the relocation of the parks is for security purposes, pointing out that any body caught going against the orders will pay a fine of N50,000.

The Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area Caretaker Chairman Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, on Monday directed all Taxi drivers, Okada riders, trailers and petrol tankers parking and carrying passengers indiscriminately along Kano road junction, down to Ayede garage, coming to Owode junction, back to Firstbank areas, going to Demonstration School, and after Kabba Police Area Command of the Lokoja-Omuo-Ilorin expressway to immediately vacate the area for security reasons.

The Chairman said after several security reports regarding the areas mentioned, has directed the various unions of different branches and drivers to relocate for the security of the area.

The Chairman noted that following the massive movements of passengers around the area that has constituted a serious security threat within the banking area.” It is Inline that this directive to all taxi drivers, okada riders and trailers to relocate to their various branch points, pointing out that anyone that violate the orders by parking and carrying passengers around the marked areas will face the consequences by paying N50,000 as penalty”.“My appeal to you (articulated vehicles) is for you to leave the road side today immediately,” he said.Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael asked the task force on traffic laws to enforce the directive, noting that parking on the highway was a violation of the nation’s traffic laws and also constituted security threats.

He also frowned at road abuses by truck drivers who pour diesel and petrol on the highway, causing quick road degeneration.

Also, this is in a bid to reduce the spate of avoidable accidents occasioned by heavy duty and articulated trucks accessing the roads in order to ensure safety, and security of lives and property” the Chairman said.
