In a bid to strengthen the legal framework and enhance the protection of citizens in Kogi State, Hon. Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya, the dedicated representative of Ijumu constituency in the state house of assembly, actively participated in a two-day workshop on advocacy organized by the Kogi State Working Group. The focus of the workshop was on the designated court and the implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law.
Expressing her views on the workshop, Hon. Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya underscored its significance, describing it as fundamental and well-organized. She emphasized the workshop’s role in providing a guiding principle for the state, fostering development, and ensuring the application of essential principles.
Commending the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and fellow honorable members for their active participation, Hon. Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya highlighted the importance of effective representation for the constituents. She believes that the insights gained from the workshop can contribute to reshaping and rebuilding the state, ultimately propelling it forward.
Expressing confidence in the leadership of the Kogi State House of Assembly, led by Rt. Hon. Speaker, expects the legislative body to continue making laws that protect the people and guarantee equal rights for the citizens of Kogi State. Hon. Ishaya encouraged fellow Kogites to collaborate with the 8th assembly members, emphasizing the collective responsibility for bringing about development through effective representation and diligent discharge of duties.
The legislator extended appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State, HE. Yahaya Bello, for providing the legislative arm with the autonomy to operate within their powers. She highlighted the importance of the harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative branches in fostering development, growth, and unity within the state. Notably, she praised the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, citing it as the best in the history of the state, particularly in terms of security and the welfare of the people.
In conclusion, Hon. Omotayo Adeleye Ishaya lauded the workshop as a guiding principle towards the betterment of the state.
