Ijumu LG Caretaker Chairman Flags off Another Distribution of Food Palliative Across 15 Wards
The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna on Friday Flagged off another round of distribution of food palliative to less privileged and vulnerable persons across the 15 Ward’s of the local government.
During the Flag off ceremony held at the local government Secretariat in Iyara, the caretaker Chairman disclosed that this round Mark’s the 4th phase of palliative distribution since the inception of the present government.
The caretaker Chairman urged the distribution Committee to ensure that the food items reach the intended beneficiaries, and warned against act of sabotage as such act will not be condoned.
The caretaker Chairman expressed gratitude to His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for consistently addressing the needs of the people, crediting the distribution initiative to the Governor’s generosity which he said was evident of his compassion and empathy, particularly amid the challenges posed by the removal of fuel subsidy and global economic downturn.
Also Speaking, the Special Adviser on Youth and Student Affairs, Hon John Oladele Nihi, who is also the chairman of the palliative distribution in Ijumu LGA, said the exercise, which targets the most vulnerable person’s of the society, will go along way in cushioning the effects of prevailing economic hardships especially at this moment of preparing for Sallah.
He further urged other politicians, public office holders, and public spirited individuals to borrow a leaf from the Governor’s gesture.
