The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna (DSTV) who was ably represented by his Chief of staff, Hon. Henry Sunday Ibiyeye, was on Tuesday, 9th, April, 2024, meet the Executive Secretary Kogi State Emergency to seek support for the victims of rain storm disaster in Iyara.

Recalled, a heavy rain storm destroying roof’s many houses in Iyara on the 7th of April, 2024.
The Executive Secretary of Kogi State Emergency Agency (KOSEMA) Alhaji Muktar Atimah revealed that assessment and consideration will be given to person’s affected by the rain storm.
” Immediately after the incident, damage and loss assessment will be conducted, which will be jointly conducted by the NEMA and State Emergency Agency (SEMA) to assist the vulnerable persons across Iyara Community and those affected by the rain storm to support their quick return to normalcy”. Alhaji Muktar said.
He said further that, KOSEMA has been working closely with NEMA to ensure that assistance is delivered in a well coordinated and effective manner, and we are not relenting in our efforts at disaster risk management and relief service delivery for the victims in distress.
Hon. Henry Sunday Ibiyeye, on behalf of the caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, appreciated the Executive Secretary for providing him the opportunity for a greater conversation on supporting people impacted by the rain storm disaster in Iyara,
