Kabba-Bunu LGA Caretaker Chairman Pays Condolence Visit To Bashiru’s Family In Gegu

The Caretaker Chairman, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, on Friday, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Alhaji Abubakar Umar, the father of Hon Engr. Bashiru Gegu, Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources at his residence in Gegu-Beki, Kogi State.

A statement from Chairman’s SA on New Media, Comr Omofa John, confirmed that the chairman was accompanied by many of the APC party faithfuls, and was received by Engr. Bashiru Gegu, the son of the late Imam.

Expressing heartfelt condolences, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael said that late Abubakar’s earthly sojourn was profoundly impactful, leaving an indelible mark on humanity until his final breath. He counsels the grieving family to embrace the inevitability of death, urging them to cherish the enduring legacy of the departed.

“Death is a must for all human beings whether you like it or not. The way you worship God, the way you relate to your fellow human beings on earth will be your saving grace in the hereafter,” he admonished.

The Caretaker Chairman described the death of the Kogi Commissioner’s father as a great loss not only to the bereaved family but also to the entire gegu-beki community.

“On behalf of the people of Kabba-Bunu LGA, I express our deepest condolences to Engr Bashiru Gegu and his family at this moment of grief. He said the deceased would be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and love for his family and the community.

“We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) will grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss,” the statement read.

In his response, Hon (Engr.) Bashiru Gegu thanked the caretaker chairman for commiserating with him over the death of his father.

He said his strive for justice, equity, fairness, unity and peaceful co-existence as a way of life was being driven from the teachings of his late father.

The Kogi Commissioner’s promised that he would continue to uphold the values and character of his late father to better the society.
