BAYO FATIMEHIN BAGS COMMUNITY AWARD
Mr Adebayo Bamigbaiye Fatimehin ACA, will be among the few sons and daughters of Ekinrin-Adde to be honoured at this year’s Award Nite, scheduled for June 24, 2022.
The Distinguished Service Award, is a unique recognition of unrivaled patriotism and continued commitment to community development.
The president, Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association, Mr Abiodun Olorunleke says six individuals will be so recognized under that category of award this year.
Fatimehim was born December 6, some years ago into the family of Chief Fatimehin Obamife of Abudo Clan and Mrs Wuraola Ige Obamife (nee-Abiona) of Odo Adde clan In Ekinrin Adde Ijumu Local Govt, Kogi State Nigeria.
He successfully had his primary education at Christ Apostolic Church Primary School, More,Ile-Ife in Osun State between 1968-1973 from where he proceeded to Government Secondary School,Agbamu in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. He completed his high school in 1982. He attended the famous Kwara State College of Technology,Ilorin now Kwara State Polytechnic,Ilorin,where he obtained Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Banking and Finance in 1984. He started his banking career with the Union Bank Nigeria PLC headquarters in Lagos in 1989 and in the same year he was transferred to the Abuja Area Office of the Union Bank. He did not stay for too long in the Abuja Area Office before he was transferred to the Union Bank, Offa Branch, Kwara State, as at that time Kwara State Union Bank was under the Abuja Area Office. He later proceeded to the Federal Polytechnic Offa while in service to obtain his HND in Accountancy, as destiny will have it, he was transferred to Abuja for the second time in his career in 1998 as a Senior Officer of the Bank. He served at the main branch of the bank in Area 3 for 6 years.
In 2003 he joined the Federal Civil service of Nigeria (Office of the Accountant General of the Federation) and he was posted to Federal Pay Office, Minna ,Niger State. Having spent 6 months there,he was transferred to the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals in Abuja and he was posted to the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency headquarter in Abuja where he served for 15 years as the Chief Accountant. He was later transferred to the Federal Ministry of Justice in December 2019, while working there he was transferred again to the Federal Ministry of Finance Abuja.
Mr Adebayo Fatimehin is a member of several professional bodies, including but not limited to Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) now known as Certified Chartered Accountants (CCA), the Institute of Cost Management Accountant (ICMA), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (ICPA) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
Mr. Adebayo B.Fatimehin love for the Ekinrin Adde community can not be measured and this he has displayed by serving in various positions geared towards the development of the community .
He served as meritoriously as the Treasurer of the National body of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association from 2010 to 2014. He also served in different capacities of the sub-committees of the Association during this period until 2021. He was the Chairman/Coordinator of Friends of Olu-Adde that partnered with the National body of the Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association to coordinate the successful installation and coronation of His Royal Majesty , Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu,Ahemaworo 1,the Olu Adde of Ekinrin Adde in 2016. He will therefore stop at nothing to help or assist both the youths and the elderly ones towards the achievement of their dreams.
He has travelled widely within Nigeria and other African countries for seminars and Workshops.
He is happily married to Feyishayo Hafsat Fatimehin with Children. His hobbies include Socializing, Volleyball, Watching football and he is still currently serving with the Federal Ministry of Finance.
