Consistent Influx Of Opposition Leaders, Members Into Kogi APC, Evidence Of GYB Legacies, Acceptance Of OdodOyibo For All – Abraham Jacob
The daily harvest of leaders and members of opposition parties in Kogi State into the ruling All Progressive Congress by His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, CON, The Executive Governor of Kogi has been described by Abraham Jacob as the glaring evidence of the general acceptance of the candidacy of Ododo Ahmed Usman and his gubernatorial running mate Comrade Joel Oyibo Samuel of the All Progressive Congress ahead of the Kogi November 11 Gubernatorial Election.
This evidence of general acceptance Abraham Jacob attributes to the lasting and generational project legacies of Governor Yahaya Bello littered across the state.
Upon the conclusion of Kogi APC gubernatorial direct primary election which ushered in Alhaji Ahmed Ododo as the candidate of the ruling party by the voting strength of the massive majority of card carrying members of the party in the state, Governor Yahaya Bello who is the leader of the party in the state, has been up till this very moment, receiving troops of decampees from different political parties in the state into the ruling All Progressive Congress. The rationale for this consistent influx of both leaders and members of opposition parties into the welcoming arms of the APC under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello is not far from the fact that His Excellency has carried out legacy capital projects that has defiled the barriers of ethnicity, tribe, religion and every other demographic sentiments in the state.
Mentioning but a few of these legacy projects includes and not limited to the establishment of Confluence University of science technology, Osara, establishment of the Kogi State University, Kabba, relocation of Kogi State College of Education, Technical, to Yagba Land, the building of Ejiba rice mill, The construction of talk of the country’s Reference Hospital, construction of hospitals across the state, construction of road networks, electrification of Igala land through the “Operation Light up Kogi East”, provision of free health insurance package for vulnerable persons in the state otherwise known as BelloCare a program fully executed by Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Provision of security vehicles and motorcycles for security operatives in the state, establishment of Kogi State Vigilante Service, declaration of war against criminals in the state which has left Kogites to going to sleep with their eyes closed, even distribution of appointments into the new direction administration across the three senatorial districts with full involvement of women and youths and people living with special abilities.
Abraham noted that recently, Kogi State University, Kabba, has opened advert for recruitment of academic and non academic staffers and this employment opportunity created by Governor Yahaya Bello consequent upon his establishment of the institution, will employ qualified persons not based on party, religion or tribal sentiments but on basis of merit.
As an unrepentant believer of the New Direction Administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, the APC loyalist, submits that these legacies of Governor Yahaya Bello will serve as the bedrock for which APC will record overwhelming and undoubted victory at the November 11 gubernatorial poll.
He further enjoined other gubernatorial candidates of other opposition parties to humbly withdraw from the race and surrender to the victory of the APC while the door is still open. He expressed confidence that with all of the incredible deeds of Governor Yahaya Bello, APC’s will emerge victorious.
Governor Yahaya Bello has welcomed former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party Administration into APC, has has welcomed so many leaders from the party into the APC. Same governor has welcomed hundreds of political appointees who served under former governor Idris Wada of the PDP into APC and recently, he received party chairmen and youth leaders of the Social Democratic Party SDP into APC. With all of these bountiful harvests made by Yahaya Bello, one will begin to wonder what is left again in the opposition parties, Abraham said.
