The Central Senatorial Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Comrade Amiegbebhor Odia John has congratulated Comrade Osahon Obasuyi on a High Court judgment in Benin which affirmed his emergence as NYCN Edo Chairman at the State Elective Congress held on November 20, 2018.
Reacting to the judgment, the Central Vice Chairman in a statement he made via a telephone conversation with Comrade Charles Osagie the Public Relations Officer, NYCN Edo State, said the high court judgment was a victory for youth development advocacy, and for the members and stakeholders of the NYCN, whom he said gave the Obasuyi led government the mandate to lead the youth of the state and have continued to show tremendous goodwill and support to its noble vision in advancing youth advocacy and impact positively on their lives as a true youth leader.
Odia, while thanking God for the victory, appreciated the judiciary for rising up to its solemn responsibility of ensuring that justice prevails, stressing that the judgment was a clear indication that the third arm of government is the last hope of the common youth.
This came as several youth leaders and NYCN stakeholders in Edo state through statements by several of them also congratulated His Youthfulness on the victory, describing it as a true reflection of the wishes of the youth of the state, especially those at the grassroots.
The NYCN Senator however admonished the state Chairman with the words of Woodrow Wilson saying, My Chairman, “you are not there merely to make a living. You are there in order to enable the Edo youth to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are there to enrich the youth of Edo state, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.” He further asked the Chairman to lead the youths from within and not lead from above.
The Vice Chairman therefore, called on a few persons especially those from Edo Central who may still be aggrieved to drop their difference in the interest of the youths of the state and join hands with our visionary Chairman and Executives to move NYCN Edo state forward. Our affirmed Chairman as a man of peace is ever ready and willing to accommodate all shades of interests in line with his administration’s peace and development initiatives.
Compiled by Comrade Charles Osagie (Mr Impact), Public Relations Officer, NYCN Edo State.
