International Women’s Day; Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA Celebrates women, calls for more recognition and Inclusiveness
The Honourable Commissioner of Finance,Budget and Economic Planning, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA has felicitated with women folks across the globe, especially kogi state on the occasion of international women’s day, which comes up 8th of March, annually, as set aside by the United Nation.
It’s a day set aside to celebrate the strength, resilience, beauty and uniqueness of women world over.
Asiwaju said women are key element of productivity and support in every society, hence, it’s increasingly important to accord them recognition in various spheres of life and also provide more and more opportunities for women’s development and accomplishment.
The campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is #BreakTheBias. Whether it is deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead in their careers and even personal lives. Only knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Rather, action is needed to level the playing field.
Mukadam asserted that the Governor Yahaya Bello led New Direction Administration is overtly committed to the advancement and empowerment of women, which is evidently proven in their large presence in leadership and process of governance in the state. His Excellency is a women friendly leader whose record surpasses 35% affirmative action, with virile policies to mitigate gender based violence in the society.
Personally, I cannot go below this standard that seeks to give women a place of pride, rather we shall devise ways to improve on their wellbeing and welfare , because they hold a special place in the life of any organisation or state.
Let me wish every wife, mother, daughter and woman a most frutiful international women’s day.
