Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Charges Traditional Rulers, Youth Representatives And Community Development Associations On Intelligence Gathering, Delivers Two Operational Vehicles With Five Motorcycles To Bunu District

The workaholic Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael has charged traditional rulers, youths and community development unions to collaborate with the government on intelligence gathering for improved security in the local government area.

Zacchaeus gave the charge yesterday, in a meeting with all the traditional rulers in Bunu land, local government appointees, community union leaders, representatives of the youths and students leaders at the palace of the Obaro of Kabba.

The chairman who was represented by his vice, Hon (Mrs.) Ifedunni Olumeyan, charged the traditional rulers in the local government to collaborate with government to improve security in their respective domains.

She said the collaboration became necessary to enhance security in order to sustain the progress and development that the government had brought about.

The chairman charged the traditional rulers, community development unions and the youths wing to create a first line self defence by setting up a team of forty gallant youths for community policing in all the villages in Bunu district and the local government authority will help to register all the teams for subsequent mobilization of essential security materials to all the registered team of community hunters.

Zacchaeus also urged the traditional rulers to cooperate with one another, noting that development would be unattainable without cooperation and collaboration.

“We need adequate security for the enhancement of progress and development that we want to see here, which our government has been ensuring.

“I want to urge you, Kabiyesi, to improve on the security, because without security, there cannot be development that we all yearn for.

“When we see something, let us say something. Report strange faces to concerned authorities, as this is a major challenge for our people.

“Let us work together in the aspect of intelligence gathering, as the issue of security is not all about carrying guns,” he said.

In his remark, the Obaro of Kabba, HRM Oba Dele Solomon Owoniyi pledged to lead the people of Kabba/Bunu LGA toward bringing development to the ancient town.

He appreciated Zacchaeus for his role in securing the people of Kabba/Bunu LGA, and promised to collaborate with the government in sustaining peace and harmony.
