Health Insurance: KGSHIA Visits New CMD Of CUSTECH Teaching Hospital, Strengthens Ties
The Board and Management of the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency (KGSHIA) recently paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Confluence University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital, Okene. The visit, led by the Executive Secretary of KGSHIA, Dr. Adekunle Aledare, was aimed at congratulating Dr. Shaibu Stephen on his appointment by His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State. It also sought to reinforce the partnership between the hospital and KGSHIA, especially in delivering quality healthcare services to enrollees of the Agency.
The Chairman of the Board of KGSHIA, Pharm. Suberu Ariko, extended his congratulations to Dr. Shaibu on behalf of the board, management, and staff, describing his appointment as a “round peg in a round hole.” He expressed confidence in Dr. Shaibu’s ability to lead the hospital effectively.
Dr. Aledare highlighted the importance of the visit, emphasizing the need to strengthen the existing relationship between the Agency and the hospital. He underscored the shared goal of government agencies in achieving the state’s healthcare objectives, adding that collaboration is essential to realizing the government’s policies.
He commended Dr. Shaibu for proactively addressing previously raised complaints and striving to implement lasting solutions. “Our enrollees’ satisfaction remains a top priority, and as both KGSHIA and the hospital are government-owned, our goals must align,” Dr. Aledare stated.
In response, Dr. Shaibu expressed his gratitude to the board and staff of KGSHIA for their visit, describing it as both encouraging and a call to action. He reiterated the government’s noble intentions behind establishing the hospital and KGSHIA, vowing to uphold these objectives.
Dr. Shaibu assured KGSHIA of his commitment to supporting and enhancing their programs within the hospital. He also addressed the challenges of stock shortages in the pharmacy department, confirming that efforts are underway to resolve the issue. He praised KGSHIA’s proactive approach and pledged to foster a robust and mutually beneficial relationship.
The visit concluded with renewed optimism for enhanced collaboration between the two institutions, ensuring better healthcare services for the residents of Kogi State.
