Ijumu Local Government Inaugurates Mrs Magaret Yetunde Olaoye as Secretary to the Local Government; Inaugurates Committee on green revolution and Food security, Holds prayer session for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo

Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area (LGA), inaugurated Mrs. Margaret Yetunde Olaoye as the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG). The event, held in the presence of family, friends, and well-wishers, was attended by key officials, including the Director of Local Government, Director of Personnel Management, Local Government Treasurer, heads of departments, unit heads, council leaders, councillors, Chief of Staff, supervisory councillors, special advisers, and senior special assistants.
In an opening remarks, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna praised the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, for his commitment to advancing the state. He specifically acknowledged Governor Ododo’s support for the ongoing 10-kilometers road construction project in Ayetoro Gbede and announced the Governor’s approval for the reconstruction of Ekirin-Adde to Iyamoye and Ogidi to Asaya roads. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for revitalizing hope among the people of Kogi.
The Executive Chairman also commended his team for their unity, synergy, and absolute support, expressing his appreciation for their dedication. He acknowledged the proactive contributions of the Vice Chairman, Hon. Muyiwa Ayedogbon, for his commitment and strong support. Additionally, he extended his appreciation to the Director of Local Government and the entire local government staff for their efforts in elevating the status of Ijumu LGA.
The inauguration proceeded with an oath-taking ceremony, led by the Clerk of the 7th Legislative Council, officially instating Mrs. Margaret Yetunde Olaoye as the Secretary to Ijumu Local Government.
Following the ceremony, the Director of Local Government delivered a goodwill message, appreciating Governor Ododo for giving Ijumu LGA, a young, vibrant and innovative Chairman. He praised Haruna’s leadership and expressed confidence in the administration’s potential to bring progress to the people, encouraging Mrs. Olaoye to contribute positively to the team.
Other officials also shared words of encouragement, emphasizing the need for everyone to actively fulfill their responsibilities.
In an appreciation note, the Vice Chairman of the Local Government Hon. Muyiwa Ayedogbon expressed his gratitude to those present. He thank them for their time, efforts and most importantly the goodeill messages. He noted that the people’s opinion is a guiding light to the administration. He affirmed the administration’s commitment to continuous teamwork and the sustainable development.
In addition to the inauguration, the Executive Chairman announced the formation of a committee on Green Revolution and Food Security, led by Hon. Olumuyiwa as Chairman. Other committee members include the Head of Department of Agriculture (Secretary), Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, Special Adviser on Agriculture, and the Chief of Staff.
The event concluded with a prayer session for Governor Ododo, led by representatives of various faiths within the local government staff, highlighting unity and dedication in serving the state.
