REJOINDER- THE LONG OVERDUE NEED FOR A MORE INNOVATIVE AND YOUTHFUL KOGI STATE ALGON CHAIRMAN

The unwarranted attack by a pseudo writer and their sposors on Kogi State ALGON Chairman, Hon. (Dr) Taufiq Isa (IION) in his write-up tagged on facebook would ordinarily not have elicited any response if not for the need to set the record straight and enlighten him and his cohorts the more.
Hon Taufiq Isa was a foundation member of the GYB government that came on board in January 2016. He was one of those who brought Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello to Okunland and campaigned vigorously for his election. Hon. Taufiq displayed his loyalty to Alhaji Yahaya Bello, AYB as was known then before, during and after the primary election. Even when Alhaji Yahaya Bello lost out in the primary, Hon. Taufiq’s loyalty to him remained unshakened. In the words of Launge Poulsen (2020), he said Loyalty is a glue that holds relationship together in times of difficulty and need. Because of these, His Excellency at the inception of his government found Hon. Taufiq worthy and appointed him Administrator of Ijumu Local Government and made him the State ALGON Chairman.
The first three years tenure of Hon Taufiq Isa as the State ALGON Chairman witnessed lots of innovations and turning point in Local Government administration in Kogi State. Hon. Taufiq recorded unprecedented achievements that set records not only in his local government but also among the administrators and the State as a whole.
During his first tenure, he appointed various tribal students leaders Okun, Ebira and Igala in the ALGON office and was paying them salaries from his purse, the first of it’s kind, youths inclusiveness in governance.
Hon. Taufiq maintained a cordial relationship with all local government chairmen and operated democratic leadership style, this earned him the chairmen’s thrust that made him to succeed as a detribalised leader.
Hon. Taufiq’s contributions to the national ALGON body was unquantifiable this earned him the opportunity to be elected as the National Legal Adviser of ALGON the first of it’s kind to happen to a Chairman in Kogi State. His efforts in repositioning the national ALGON are well documented and this has helped to redeem the image of the national ALGON.
Hon. Taufiq’s creativeness in initiating programs in his local government as a pointer for other local governments in the state made him stands out among the chairmen.
Because of his numerous achievements in the areas of massive appointments, youths inclusiveness in governance, projects, empowerments, security and love for development, the good people of Ijumu Local government found him worthy and elected him as the local government Chairman on 12th December, 2020.
Because of his numerous achievements during his first tenure as the ALGON Chairman, immediately after their inauguration, he was reelected as the ALGON Chairman for a second term. Since his appointment lots of innovations have taken place.
First, Hon. Taufiq is the first Local government Chairman that has initiated a bye law to cortail the security challenges facing Ijumu Local government and has directed other local government Chairmen to take clue and do same to curb the security challenges ravaging the nation. He has also appointed local hunters in each community to senergize with other security agencies to help tackle crimes in the various communities which other chairmen are expected to implement in their local governments.
Secondly, during the last gobernitorial election, the ALGON Chairman in collaboration with the 21 LGAs Chairmen toured all 21 LGAs to campaign for the reelection of his Excellency.
In addition, Hon. Taufiq is a youth friendly Chairman who in his cabinet has the youngest LGA Secretary, Supervisory councilors. In his local government council he has Councilors who are in their twenties which is an innovation in local government administration. These has always been his practices right from inception which made the Kogi State NYCN to present an award of Excellence to him for his leadership style and his love for the youths.
Never in the history of Kogi State that a local government Chairman has invested heavily in security as Hon. Taufiq has done. So far with the meger resources, Hon. Taufiq has bought two buses for the local government vigilantes, one for the hunters, a hillus van for civil defence, motorcycles for hunters, providing finances for their operations and has advised other local government Chairmen to do same. He is always at the lead of security agencies, hunters and vigilantes in to the bush after the criminals all in a bid to implement the governor’s zero tolerance for criminal elements.
Hon. Taufiq’s proactiveness is always seen at different occasions when the need arises, visiting various communities in Ijumu and other local governments especially in crises situations in the various local governments, repairing roads, providing assistance to people irrespective of local government, synergizing with the ministry of local government to provide better services for the people at the grassroots.
Hon. Taufiq’s leadership acumen has earned him so many awards of integrity, good administrator of human and material resources within the local government, state and outside the shores of the nation.
Hon. Taufiq Isa is a workaholic, vibrant, security conscious and leader par excellence. His inventiveness, ingeniousness and resousfilness are innovations a young leader needs in the piloting of the activities of ALGON both at the state and national level, what can be more youthful than these? Only a youthful leader with much strength like Hon. Taufiq can do these.
Just last week 18th December, a supervisory Councilor, ASU empowered by Hon. Taufiq organized youths on a motor cade tour of Ijumu to mobilize Ijumu youths for their support for the Governor’s Presidential project, the first of it’s kind and the ALGON Chairman had directed all local governments Chairman to mobilize such for His Excellency. Hon. Taufiq is presently synergizing with the state APC youths planning for a nation tour to campaign for His Excellency’s Presidential ambition. What can be so innovative in leadership than these? Providing quality and roburst leadership and being creative.
Hon. Taufiq is fully committed and preoccupied with the onerous task of providing quality leadership at the local government, state ALGON, the national ALGON and is not and will not be distracted by any malicious attack on his person and capacity as the Kogi State ALGON Chairman. His loyalty to the government of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is intact and is committe d to the project of His Excellency’s Presidential ambition.
Hon. Taufiq through his office and dedication to duty,has been able to distributes over 600 Motorcycles to youths across Kogi State, rehabilitates Hospitals in his Local Government,give scholarships to students in our various higher institutions of learning,etc.
Lastly, We want to thank His Exellency,the Executive Governor of Kogi State,Alh. Yahaya Bello for reposing a high confidence on Alh. Taufiq Isa,no amount of blackmail can distract the ALGON Chairman from shifting his loyalty a bit,haven seen the loyalty and dedication to duty he has for the New Direction Government. Alh. Taufiq owed GYB external loyalty.
