Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Inaugurates LGA Legislative Council, Charged Them To Work Together To Build Our Local Government Area, That No One Else Will Do It For Us

The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael on Thursday made a clarion call on members of the Kabba/Bunu LGA legislative council to come together and work with him towards building the local government area, stressing that no external aid or institution can replace the collective efforts of citizens in achieving progress and development.

The Chairman made the call while speaking to a session of the legislative council as part of the activities to begin legislation during her inauguration ceremony held at the Council Chamber in Kabba.

He charged the honourable councilors to go into the next council with a single purpose of putting the local government area ahead of partisanship in the discharge of their service that he will perform an open-door policy for everybody.

Also, he advised the councilors to uphold the principles of good governance, accountability and effective representation.

Zacchaeus said, it is my immense honour, pursuant to Section 105 (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), to issue a proclamation for the holding of the first session of the Kabba/Bunu LGA Legislative Council.

He highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government in achieving the state’s developmental goals.

“You’re the closest link between the government and the people at the grassroots. It is your responsibility to listen to their needs, voice their concerns and ensure that their aspirations are well presented in every policy and decision,” the chairman added.

In her response, the council leader, Rt Hon (Mrs.) Comfort Obaromi pledged to carry out their duties with all passion, dedication and she promised to show unwavering loyalty and cooperation with the executive arm for the progress of Kabba/Bunu LGA.

Present at the inauguration are; Hon (Mrs) Ifedunmi Olumeyan, the vice chairperson of Kabba/Bunu LGA, Hon Wemi Jones FCIB; commissioner of Education, Comdr Jerry Omodara rtd; State Security Adviser, Hon Seyi Bello; member Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Moses Olorunleke; Special Adviser on Security Matters (Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon Bode Adeyemi; Special Adviser on Energy Matters, Hon Nathaniel Taiwo; Former chairman, APC supporters and host of other state and local government appointees.
