KOSIEC Declares APC Winner of 21 Chairmanship Seats, 239 Councillorships in Kogi Local Government Elections
The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has declared the results of the local government elections held on October 19, 2024. In an official announcement at the commission’s headquarters in Lokoja, KOSIEC Chairman, Mamman Nda Eric, revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in all the 21 local government chairmanship seats contested.
The ruling APC also secured all 239 councillorship positions across the state’s wards, further solidifying its political dominance in Kogi. The election results, which were highly anticipated, reflect the party’s continued control at the grassroots level, extending its influence beyond the state government into local governance.
Mamman Nda Eric described the election as “free, fair, and credible,” emphasizing that the electoral process adhered to the highest standards of transparency and integrity.
