*Report of the just concluded Miss Okun Beauty Pageant by the Chairman, Miss Okun 2021/2022

It is an opportunity to serve in the capacity as the Chairman of Miss Okun 2021/2022.
I want to use this medium to appreciate the President and his executive for the privilege given to the committee members even after our inauguration on the 19-10-2021 to serve as the organizer of the Miss Okun 2021-2022.
Having accepted the task, we sprang to action and promised to deliver the most peaceful and the best Miss Okun ever. We created a platform for the committee members so as to deliver on our mandate. Delibration and brain storming started and we decided to introduce:
1. Form Fee
2. Ticket Fee
3. No political interference
4. No Stakeholders interference because some of them are the major problem we have in NAOS
5. Staging the best beauty pageant ever.
Having considered some of the past challenges, we were able to put things in order to avoid story that touches.
Form fee, Designs and banners take the center stage, followed by tickets for each contestants:
1. Miss Gloria Buari
2. Miss Oluwaseyi Endurance
3. Miss Otitolaiye Mopelola
4. Miss Jimoh Juliet
Two of the above listed aspirants paid into the Association’s account, while the remaining two paid into my own personal account, the sum of 10k each. Miss Gloria Buari drop from the race due to her ongoing examination in school (Kogi State University).
Staging of DJ, Decorator, Security, and fuelling was done with all the money realized from the sales of form and Tickets.
On the sales of form, time was given to each of the contestant to remit the tickets money; of all the 35k price money of the tickets given to Endurance Oluwaseyi, she was able to remit the sum of 27k, while Otitolaiye Mopelola Tayo was able to remit all her tickets fee totalling the sum of 30k both from Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu before the closing date. Miss Jimoh Juliet from Yagba West refused to remit her tickets fee up till this moment despite the closing date given to all of them. She was said to have been attributing unnecessary statement to the president which I counted to be just a mere statement not knowing it was a planned agreement between her and the president not to remit her ticket fee.
On the crown issue, I bought three crown for the three contestants and Yeye Banji Ayelabowo Itura, popularly called Yeye Oge sent a well decorated crown and a turban rope in order to design the winner. Her good gesture was well appreciated by me and other committee members and I took the delivery of the crown as the committee Chairman.
Preparation started on my arrival at Odo Ere the venue for the beauty pageant, GYB hall besides High School Okutadu Odo Ere Yagba West LGA.
At about 5pm on 08-01-2022 at the venue of the program, Comrade Omosona Olakunle, popularly called TY and Jethro called the Association’s President (NAOS) and asked him to inform me of their hotel bills and what they will eat; my answer straight was that, who invited them to the program and of what benefit is their presence? The President laughed and said they are jokers who have nothing to offer than to milk the Association.
At about 7:25pm, TY Dot called the President several times but he refused picking up the calls, he then later called me that the hotel manager wouldn’t allow them to go without paying their bills, he then begged me to relate with the president on their behalf for the hotel money amounting to 7k and I said i am still sourcing for money to buy gifts for the contestants, that they should not disturb me with hotel money. On getting to the hall after some minutes, TY and Jethro were already waiting for me, immediately they sighted me, they attacked me, beat me until Comr Tobi Samuel and Comr Adeyemi Gbenga(Skippp) came to my rescue. My cloth was torn and I was dragged on the floor before I was released from their hands.
Comrade Kunle Ola, SA to the Governor of Kogi State was the one who orchestrated the disruption of the whole process. Reason is that, he had lobbied through me to be part of the panel of judges of which I told him that the program was strictly for students and not for stakeholders. Comr Adeyemi Gbenga (Skippo) was also a stakeholder like him who came to watch over the program, he supported we should allow the students to take charge.
Little did I know that arrangement has been made between Miss Jimoh Juliet and the association’s president for the former not to pay for the tickets given to her. The President lied that she has paid the sum of 20k to him and he couldn’t account for the money up till today.
I never knew things could go the way it was when a committee member called me and said that I should be careful because Yagba people have an agenda, I told him i am with the President that he should repeat himself so the President could hear him clearly of which he did but the president merely laughed at me saying he will never support that even if there is such.
Collations of names for the panel of judges and master of ceremony was what I was about doing when the president came to meet me and said I should include three of the Stakeholders from Yagba to be part of the judges, I said no that I will only allow students from that Axis and nothing more not knowing everything has been planned. I was dragged on the floor and taken outside when the same President announced the list of panel of judges comprising those three comrades namely, Omosona Olakunle, popularly called TY, Olasunkanmi Jethro and Kunle Ola, SA to Governor of Kogi State and three other members from Bunu, Ijumu and Kabba.
Kunle Ola announced himself as the Chief Judge which Comr Tobi Samuel said It shouldn’t be so, that the President should allow Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu person act in that capacity base on the record of how it was done in the past, but he refused, so he forced himself to be the chief judge.
Sincerely speaking, the three contestants performed wonderfully well, starting from contestant 1-3, but the level of preparedness of contestant three who is Miss. Otitolaiye Mopelola Tayo makes the audience to be more interested in the show. Having answered all her questions which the other two contestants could not answer, coupled with her performance which was top-notched, she was able to convince all the panel of judges how prepared she was. She stole the show with her dressing and make-up.
The panel of judges collated their results to the favour of Miss Otitolaiye Mopelola Tayo but the self anointed Chief Judge, comrade Kunle Ola SA to Governor of Kogi State announced Jimoh Juliet, which was against what was agreed upon by the panel of judges.
I, Sen Adebowale Solomon Adeniyi the chairman of the committee Miss Okun 2021/2022 having seen the result which was given to me, overruled Kunle Ola’s decision and announced contestant number three who is Miss Otitolaiye Mopelola Tayo as the authentic winner and immediately crowned her as the Miss Okun 2022 but to my surprise, Yagba West newly elected President in collaboration with TY Dot, Jethro and Kunle Ola was seen decorating contestant number one as Miss Okun despite the fact that I have decorated the rightful winner of the contest.
My attention was drawn to that purported crowning of contestant one even after contestant three, the rightful winner has been declared and crowned, I asked the people to keep calm as it was effort in futility. I and the other people from Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu was chased from the premises at about 1:47am, which we all ran away to save our lives and later those that came with cars, I asked them to go that I and others with motorcycle will surely find our way.
Some of us were inside the bush for some hours and could not come out because of the threat that we will be beaten front and back. After coming out from our hidden place, we ran to the President mother’s house for refugee which she immediately opened the door and let us in. A careful explanation was given to the old woman and she begged us to calm down till the next day, at about 4:55am, I woke up to hear that “they are in your house, they are in your house”. Immediately I woke NAOS President Federal College of Education Okene who is from Yagba East told him Oga let us run for our safety because this people are after our lives. We carefully sneaked out not knowing some of them are waiting downstairs, but thank God we bypassed them and they started running after us with their bikes.
Thank God our journey back home was not without stress, but not to death.
On getting home, a purported release from the table TY Dot emerged, but a swift response was given even by the President elect of Yagba West saying such thing did not happen
Omosona Olakunle, popularly called TY, Olasunkanmi Jethro and Kunle Ola SA to Governor of Kogi State are the people who destroyed the peaceful arrangement of 2021/2022 miss Okun contest in Odo Ere
