ADC Leadership in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Stands Strong Denies Decamping Rumours with a Defiant Declaration

The leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu has vehemently denied the news circulating that its members have decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This declaration was made during a stakeholders meeting of the party today in Kabba.

The leaders affirmed that ADC is still very much intact, not only in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu and Yagba, but in Kogi State as a whole. They reiterated that Hon. Leke Abejide remains the national leader of the party despite the recent departure of a member duly elected under the party ticket.

According to the leaders, the true loyalists and members of the party are still intact. It is unfortunate that the member representing Kabba-Bunu/ Ijumu federal constituency, a man we entrusted with our mandate betrayed our trust by decamping to the APC without notifying the party that rescued him when PDP rejected him, but this has not in any way affected the party and its structure. We are solidly with our leader, Elder Leke Abejide, and we remain a party of influence and a party to reckon with.

The Kabba-Bunu and Ijumu chairmen of ADC, alongside the women leaders, youth leaders and members debunked the assertion that the party is dead due to the departure of one member. This is deemed as deceitful and untrue.

They emphasized that any decision about the party’s future would only be taken under the directives of the party’s National Leader, Elder Leke Abejide and the Party’s National Secretariat
