Residents of the lower part of Upper Karaworo Community in Ward C, Lokoja Local Government Area, have expressed deep appreciation to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, for the installation of a solar-powered productive borehole in their community.
In a statement issued by the community leader, Umar Yakubu Ali, the people described the intervention as timely and life saving, noting that access to potable water has been one of their major challenges due to the fast-paced growth of the area.
“We most sincerely appreciate our leader, the APC leader of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali, the Matawale Arewa Nupe and Gabi Sayyadi of Lokoja, for facilitating this project on our behalf,” the statement read.
The community also commended the contributions of the Lokoja LGA APC Chairman, Hon. Maikudi Bature (7 Star General), Ward C APC Chairman, Coach Suleiman, Comrade Isa Tenimu Umar, the immediate past and current Lokoja I Assembly Members, Hon. Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, as well as the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya MD Farouk, FNSE. They further acknowledged the project team led by the Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Karimi for their dedication.
While appreciating the efforts, the community appealed for an additional borehole to be sited at the upper side of the settlement, describing it as the most difficult area to reach, especially during peak periods of water scarcity.
“As your loyal constituents, we humbly beg for an additional borehole to serve the upper side of our community, which remains underserved by water vendors,” the statement concluded.
