Promise Fulfilled: Kabba/Bunu LGA Chairman Commences Construction of Ultra-Modern Maternity and Primary Health Care Facility in Illah Bunu
The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, has fulfilled a long-awaited promise to the people of Illah Bunu, as he commenced the construction of an ultra-modern Maternity and Primary Health Care Facility.
Upon starting the production of the first phase eight thousand (8000) concrete blocks for the project on the 29th of August, 2025, dignitaries, community leaders, and health professionals from the community has lauded the initiative.
This significant development, which is a response to the urgent availability and accessibility of the healthcare needs of the community, was initiated following requests from local residents and the traditional ruler, Oba Henry Folorunsho Ikutanwa, who has been a vocal advocate for improved healthcare infrastructure in the area.
His royal Highness, Oba Henry Folorunsho Ikutanwa, the Oba of Illah Bunu community and High Chief Inumotole Babatunde, a community leader and Hon Abayomi Joseph shogo the Councilor representing Iluke ward and Deputy Council leader Kabba/Bunu Legislative Council all commend the executive Chairman transformative effort since he assumed the office and particularly this project as a major milestone in the transformation of the rural healthcare sector of Kabba/Bunu LGA.
The facility when completed will serve as a modern healthcare hub, providing essential maternal and child health services, as well as primary healthcare to residents of Illah Bunu and its neighboring communities. The new health facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and staffed by qualified health professionals, making it one of the most advanced healthcare centers in the region. The maternity wing will offer prenatal and postnatal care, ensuring that expectant mothers receive the best care during and after childbirth.
Additionally, the primary health care section will provide a wide range of medical services, including immunizations, maternal and child health services, and general consultations.
The traditional ruler of Illah Bunu, Oba Henry Folorunsho, has expressed his gratitude to the Chairman for his prompt action in fulfilling the community’s request. “This is a dream come true for our people,” he said. “We have long awaited this moment, and now, thanks to Hon. Zacchaeus Dare, we will have access to good healthcare services right here in our community.”
The initiative is part of Hon. (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael’s broader agenda to enhance healthcare infrastructure across Kabba/Bunu LGA, ensuring that healthcare services are accessible to all residents, regardless of their location or socio-economic status, also to significantly reduce the burden on neighboring healthcare centers and improve accessibility and availability for the overall health outcomes in the region.
