Project Inspection: Ijumu LGA Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna Inspects Key Projects Across Ijumu LGA (Smart Police station Ilughagba, Ongoing Primary healthcare in Ogidi and Ijumu Produce Market Iyara)
Earlier today, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, embarked on a comprehensive inspection exercise covering major ongoing projects across the Local Government Area. His tour spanned the proposed Smart Police Station in Ilughagba, the Primary Healthcare Centre under construction in Ogidi, and the Produce Market project in Iyara.
At Ilughagba, the Chairman conducted an on-site assessment of the location for the proposed Smart Police Station. He explained that the project became necessary following the population growth and heightened commercial activities in the area due to the presence of the Mangal Cement Plant. In response to calls from the community, the Chairman disclosed that the Local Government has partnered with the company to establish the Smart Police Station, which will enhance security, protect lives and property, and ensure order in the fast-growing community. During the visit, he interacted with both indigenes and non-indigenes, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts for peaceful coexistence.
Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna also visited Ogidi, where he inspected the ongoing construction of the Primary Healthcare Centre, which is already over 50% completed. He commended the level of work done so far, while charging the contractors to be more proactive in order to meet the set deadlines and deliver quality service to the people.
The inspection continued at the Ijumu Produce Market in Iyara, a project fully undertaken by the Local Government using local labor to promote artisans and encourage local patronage. According to him, the market is envisioned to become the major hub where farmers and local produce marketers will seamlessly meet with organized and registered buyers, thereby boosting agricultural trade in Ijumu.
Speaking after the tour, the Executive Chairman reiterated that his administration is people-focused and committed to going the extra mile to deliver the dividends of democracy. He urged the people of Ijumu to remain supportive of government initiatives, stressing that with collective effort, the society can be uplifted and stand as an example worthy of emulation.
