Chief Mrs Esther Abejide Empowers Women Across The 34 Wards Of Yagba Federal Constituency.

The wife of the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Chief Mrs Esther Abejide, has empowered women across the 34 wards in Yagba Federal Constituency through the Yagba Women Empowerment Team. The empowerment was designed to support women in business with cash across the 34 wards of Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro Federal Constituency.

Mrs Abejide launched the empowerment scheme through Hon. Nike Akolade. The scheme was an initiative proposed to be a women-helping-women approach and an intervention to support women in business with cash flow.

Hon. Nike Akolade during the empowerment that took place on 30th July, 2025 in Yagba East, West, and Mopamuro, described empowerment of women as the veritable tool that can be used to drive development and unlock opportunities for individuals and families.

Speaking during the cash presentation to the beneficiaries, Hon. Nike appreciated the initiative to further support women by Chief Mrs Esther Abejide, stating that Hon. Leke Abejide MHR has given support to women through empowerment and the cooperative societies initiative to boost nano businesses. Therefore the women in Yagba has gained visibility through Chief Mrs Abejide with the initiative to support women in Yagba Federal Constituency.

“It is evident that the women are major priorities for Hon. Leke and his wife, they want every woman to shine in the line of business, this is a testament that they appreciate Yagba women. Indeed Chief Mrs Esther Abejide understands the role of women in our society.

The beneficiaries from the three local governments described the empowerment initiative as impactful and crucial to socio-economic development. While they applauded Chief Mrs Esther Abejide for the initiative aimed at promoting their businesses and giving financial empowerment to women across the 34 wards in Yagba.

Hon. Nike Akolade urged the women to continue to support Hon. Leke Abejide and his wife so that they can do more for the women as the empowerment of women remained one of their core values.
