Iluhagba Crisis: Ijumu Council Boss Sets Up Committee to Assess Impact, Support Victims, and Prevent Future Occurrences
Following a crisis that arose from a disagreement between truck drivers and settlers in Iluhagba late last month, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, after taking swift action to restore calm, has constituted a committee to review the incident, assess the losses incurred, and propose relief measures for affected victims.
The committee is also tasked with investigating the root causes of the crisis, mediating among the involved parties, and developing strategies to prevent a recurrence.
In addition, as part of efforts to improve the town’s aesthetics and ensure proper business regulation, the local government chairman has initiated the construction of a dedicated market area.
This project will involve relocating shops to a designated location, ensuring better organization and effective monitoring.
