Ijumu Local Government Chairman Leads Security Team to Strengthen Border Safety
The Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Ibrahim Haruna, has led a team of local security vigilantes to the Kabba-Ayere Expressway, a critical border point between Kogi and Ondo States, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security in the region.
During the visit, Hon. Haruna commended His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, for his proactive approach to tackling the menace of kidnapping along the expressway.
He highlighted the governor’s commitment to strengthening security by equipping local government vigilantes with essential tools to combat criminal activities.
As part of his engagements, the Chairman met with army personnel stationed at the Kogi-Ondo border, emphasizing the importance of information sharing and inter-agency collaboration in eliminating kidnappers from the area.
The security personnel at the checkpoint acknowledged the Chairman’s support and pledged to enhance cooperation with Ijumu local hunters and vigilante groups to ensure the safety of travelers and residents along the highway.
