Kogi’s First Lady Meets with Council Leaders, Charges Them on State Building
The wife of the Kogi State Governor, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo, on Friday, held a strategic meeting with the Council Leaders from the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state. The meeting, which took place at the Conference Room of the First Lady’s Office in Lokoja, focused on enhancing leadership capacities and fostering unity among council members for the overall development of Kogi State.
During the engagement, Hajiya Sefinat Ododo emphasized the importance of good governance, urging the Council Leaders to remain dedicated to their responsibilities in serving the people at the grassroots. She stressed that as legislative heads in their respective LGAs, they have a vital role to play in ensuring policies and initiatives that positively impact the lives of the people.
The First Lady also highlighted the need for collaboration among government officials at all levels, encouraging the Council Leaders to work in synergy with their Council Chairmen and other stakeholders to promote peace, development, and inclusivity. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift the standard of living in Kogi State, particularly in areas concerning women, children, and vulnerable groups.
In response, the Council Leaders expressed their gratitude to the First Lady for her warm reception and words of encouragement. They acknowledged her commitment to the welfare of the people and assured her of their readiness to implement policies that align with the administration’s development agenda. They also appreciated her guidance and support in strengthening the legislative council system across the state.
The meeting served as a platform for open dialogue, with discussions centered on improving legislative efficiency, promoting grassroots governance, and addressing challenges faced at the local level. It also reinforced the administration’s dedication to inclusive leadership, unity, and progress.
