Fanisi Babatunde, Ph.D Appointed as Regional Coordinator for North Central YOCAC by the Nigerian Cancer Society

The Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS) has announced the appointment of Fanisi Babatunde Ph.D  as the Regional Coordinator for the North Central Geo-Political Region of its Youth Coalition Against Cancer (YOCAC). This prestigious appointment comes as part of the Society’s efforts to strengthen its cancer awareness and advocacy initiatives across Nigeria. 

In his new role, Dr. Babatunde will collaborate with other regional leaders to empower youths and spearhead impactful cancer awareness campaigns, driving the mission to reduce the burden of cancer in Nigeria and beyond. With a focus on creating sustainable advocacy strategies, the YOCAC initiative aims to inspire young people to take active roles in the fight against cancer. 

Dr. Fanisi Babatunde holds a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management and is a seasoned researcher, educator at the Kogi State University,  Kabba and trainer with extensive mentorship in development work. He has been actively involved with global training bodies, including the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), where he has actively learned through various capacity-building courses. 

In a statement, Dr. Babatunde expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying, *“It is an honor to serve as the Regional Coordinator for the North Central Geo-Political Region. This role provides a unique platform to engage youths in making a difference in cancer awareness and prevention. Together, we will work towards creating a healthier future for all.”

The Nigerian Cancer Society emphasized that the appointment aligns with its vision to strengthen youth-led initiatives in combating cancer. Dr. Babatunde’s leadership and wealth of experience are expected to bring a dynamic approach to this critical cause. 

YOCAC is the youth arm of the Nigerian Cancer Society, focused on galvanizing the energy and creativity of young people to combat cancer through education, awareness, and advocacy. With leaders like Dr. Babatunde at the helm, the coalition is poised to expand its impact across the country. 

Dr. Babatunde’s appointment underscores his commitment to societal development and advocacy, and stakeholders are optimistic about the transformative contributions he will bring to the fight against cancer in Nigeria.
