Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Attends Wife’s Sister Wedding, Counsels Young Couples On Godly Marriage
The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, on Saturday advised young couples on ‘godly marriage’ to enjoy its blessings.
Zacchaeus said this recently at the wedding ceremony of one of his wife’s sisters, Abiye Sandra Suberu and her husband Alex Saliu Bebeto who took the altar to tie the knot at the Saint Andrew Cathedral Church, Kabba, Kogi State.
The event brought together dignitaries who graced the occasion
While presenting the marriage certificate to the couple, Zacchaeus prayed for good health and fruitfulness for them, urging them to respect their vows.
Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael also urged them to be steadfast in the word of God to help them to be good partners, advised the couple to be tolerant and make deliberate efforts to make their marriage work, saying ‘God will sustain your marriage’.
He noted that the non-existence of steadfast love among couples has destroyed many marriages. Steadfast love does not focus on the negative aspects of one’s spouse. Steadfast love is a family relationship that is kind, is easily entreated, is not rude, thinketh no evil, does not keep bad records, is patient, and not selfish.
In his words, Zacchaeus, called on the couple to be an example to the up-coming couples by their love and staying together, because love wins all.
“The Lord will cause you to prosper, the Lord will provide for you so that you will provide for your children,” he prayed.
He said marriage is ordained by God and the couple should ensure they make it successful.
Zacchaeus said husbands should give their wives the opportunity to be their helpmates as instructed by God, explained that the wife has the repository of wisdom, sufficient to guide the husband in his discharge of duties as the head of the family.
He urged the husband to take full responsibility of the physical and spiritual needs of the wife as instructed by God, and for the wives to be submissive to their husbands.
