A famous African proverb apprises us, “If you educate a man, you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a family The skill acquisition organized by the 5th Omidan Oge winner Omidan Atinuke, served as an opportunity to speak directly to the heart of our girl child, as the world evolve, investing in girls’ education transforms their life as a PRIDE, communities, countries and the entire world. Girls who receive an education are less likely to marry young and more likely to lead healthy, productive livesThey earn higher incomes, participate in the decisions that most affect them, and build better futures for themselves and their families.

The Skill Acquisition and empowerment which took place at Kabba, had the presence of the primary and secondary students as participants as well as the contestants for this year’s Omidan Oge edition. The Skill Acquisition and empowerment program was born of necessity to discover and reshape the girl child potential and ability to embrace change and certain corrections needed for Nationals development and growth.

On the other hand, Engr Emmanuel Ajibero the Kabba development Union, gave a grand and warm reception to the contestants at his resident in Kabba. As a father to a daughter, Engr. Ajibero gave the contestants some deep and insightful words of knowledge, experience and guide a father will give her biological daughter in reshaping and preparing the maidans for the battle of motherhood ahead.

The vision statement of ILE’YA OMO OKUN, is still anchored on the path that the cultural based Leadership event will continue to be a significant proportion in changing the narrative and creating undaunted impact in OKUNLAND.
