Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Receives ICT Equipment From Kogi ACReSAL To Enhance Database Capacity And Project Monitoring

The Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area has taken a significant step towards boosting its operational efficiency with the receipt of cutting-edge ICT equipment from the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project in Kabba.

The Project Coordinator, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto, who is ably represented by Mr Suleiman Mahmud presented the ICT equipment to ACReSAL Local Government Project Management Unit (LGPMU).

This donation is a testament to the local government’s commitment to harnessing technology to empower women and drive socio-economic development.

The Executive Chairman, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, while receiving the equipment at the council chamber in Kabba, stated that the ICT equipment will not only revolutionize productivity and data collection within the local government area but also support its e-commerce portal for cluster women and youths empowerment, which requires robust record-keeping, monitoring, and analysis.

He expressed gratitude to Kogi ACReSAL for their invaluable contribution to technology empowerment in Nigeria while also commending Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo-led Administration’s efforts in ensuring the upliftment of the lives of women, children and the vulnerable in the state.

With this equipment on the ground, Zacchaeus said, the local government area is poised to leverage technology in driving meaningful change and ensuring robust data collection, analysis, and monitoring in its efforts to empower women and youths.

The ACReSAL Project, a World Bank-assisted initiative, aims to address land degradation and climate change in Nigeria. The donated ICT equipment aligns with the Project’s Component C, of the ACReSAL Project Development Objective (PDO) which focuses on institutional support and project management, as highlighted by its National Project Coordinator, Mr. AbdulHamid Umar.

Zacchaeus, thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, adding that his support for the project is the reason “behind our many successes”.

He added that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, through his support, had demonstrated his resolve to building resilient communities, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and driving economic growth. He acknowledged the Governor’s tireless efforts, whilst looking forward to continued progress under his leadership.

The presentation which took place at the legislative council chamber in Kabba had the Director of Personnel Management (DPM), Hon Olorunnipa J.O, Supervisor for Works, Land and Survey, Hon (Chief) Aiyenale Fred, Chief of Staff to the chairman, Hon Aiyeditan Emmanuel, Supervisor for Budget and Planning, Hon Isaac Tolorunju, as well as the Clerk of the legislative council, and representative of the people living with disability, Hon Joash Onemayin in attendance.

Speaking on behalf of the Local Government Project Management Unit (LGPMU), Hon Joash Onemayin, assured the Project Coordinator that the equipment will be judiciously utilized to ensure effective service delivery, stating also that the equipment will be well maintained.
