Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, Others Grace Akefe Peter’s Mum Wake Keep

Notable Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area sons and daughters converged in Kabba, the Kabba/Bunu LGA capital on Friday to pay their last respects to the mother of Hon Peter Akefe, Late Princess Comfort Idowu Akefe.

The ancient city of Kabba on Friday witnessed another epoch event that will forever be remembered by residents of the City as some dignitaries across all spheres of life gathered to rejoice with the community developer and PDP chieftain, Hon Peter Akefe who celebrates the peaceful passage of his mother, and her christian wake keep.

The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, in his tribute to the late mother, described Princess Comfort Idowu Akefe, as an epitome of love and discipline.

The Chairman, who was speaking at the christian wake keeps service of the late mother, held at the Akefe’s house in Aiyeteju, Kabba, said that the mother equally epitomizes contentment.

He noted that Peter’s mother discipline helped him to attain the heights he has attained today, adding that she taught him to love God and to always offer his best gifts to the Almighty.

Zacchaeus described the late mother, who passed-on on Thursday, August 29, 2024, as irreplaceable, stating that Peter would never forget her.

A statement by Hon Omofa John, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, indicated that the chairman, while addressing the gathering, which included both former members of State House of Assembly and Kabba-Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency party stalwarts, serving and former councilors and other dignitaries, said that Peter Akefe mother lived a worthy lifestyle for her community and all her children.

While addressing the gathering, Zacchaeus said: “I am here to just pay a tribute to a mother figure, Princess Comfort Akefe. I grew up to know her and with all sincerity she lived a pleasant and impactful life while on earth.

“Mama, today I chose not to be sad because you have passed away, but I prefer to rejoice. You lived a fulfilled life.

“Mama Comfort, this is the celebration of your life. Rest in the bosom of our Lord until we meet to part no more.

The statement indicated that the event was attended by representatives of the local government area appointees.

Also in attendance was former PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon Kola Ologbondiyan, among other dignitaries, were also at the service.
