Housing and Urban Development Commissioner, Abanika, Inspects Ongoing Projects at Kogi State University, Kabba
The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Taiye Abanika, conducted an inspection of ongoing construction projects at Kogi State University, Kabba, on Wednesday, 18th September 2024. Accompanied by members of the ministry’s Inspection and Monitoring team, Hon. Abanika was received by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Kehinde Eniola, and other members of the university’s management.
The inspection focused on several key projects on campus, including the Senate building, Library complex, Multipurpose classrooms, and the main entrance to the institution. These projects represent a significant step toward improving the university’s infrastructure, ensuring a conducive environment for learning, research, and administration.
During the inspection, Hon. Abanika, known for his attention to detail, carefully scrutinized the progress of the projects, emphasizing the importance of meeting deadlines without compromising quality. The university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Oshaloto Tade, expressed the administration’s commitment to ensuring the timely and successful completion of the projects, stating that each site visited was under close supervision to maintain high construction standards.
Speaking to the university’s management, Hon. Abanika stressed the importance of adhering to quality standards and encouraged the contractors to take corrective actions where necessary to ensure the projects meet both durability and aesthetic expectations. He also urged for a swift completion to allow students and staff to benefit from the upgraded facilities.
Professor Kehinde Eniola, the Vice Chancellor, appreciated the Commissioner’s visit and assured that the university would continue to cooperate with the ministry to ensure all projects align with the institution’s long-term vision. He further noted that the new structures would provide an improved academic atmosphere for both students and faculty.
The inspection marks a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Kogi State University, Kabba, as the institution continues to expand and modernize its facilities, contributing to the overall goal of enhancing higher education in Kogi State.
