In a surprising turn of events, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB, and Hon. Arch. Salman Idris have orchestrated a massive defection of over 2000 members from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The highlight of the defection was the decamping of a notable stalwart of the PDP, Honourable Joash Onemayin, who made the bold move to join the ruling party in the state. Joining him were other prominent members such as Chief Noah Olorunipa, Mr. Rufus Ojo, Mr. Omotola Olorunmaiye, Hon. Francis Omodamori, Hon. Alausa, Mr. Taiwo Ojo, Mrs. Taiwo Ojo, Mr. Edward Shogo, and Festus Omodamori.

The event, which took place amidst a jubilant atmosphere, saw the new members express their confidence in the leadership of Hon. Wemi Jones FCIB and Hon. Arch. Salman Idris, citing their developmental strides and commitment to good governance as reasons for their defection.

Hon. Joash Onemayin promised to work together with the APC and it’s leadership to ensure the success and progress of the party in the local government. He also commended the efforts of Hon.
