Obagbayi Applauds Supreme Court Judgement On Governor Ododo
His Royal Highness, Oba Mathew Tolorunleke, the Obagbayi of Oweland, has congratulated Kogi State Governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo on his recent victory at the Supreme Court, affirming him as the duly elected Governor of the state.
Recall that the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Muri Ajaka in the November 11 governorship election and candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Olayinka Braimoh, had dragged the Governor to court, challenging the outcome of the election with allegations of over voting, bypass of BIVAS among others; a case that was put to rest by the apex court on Friday.
Oba Mathew Tolorunleke, in a statement, described the judgment as a victory for democracy and the good people of Kogi state.
He disclosed that the election that brought the Governor to power was well contested and won by the most credible candidate. As such, what the court did was only to give backing to the choice of Kogi people.
The monarch further charged the Governor to be committed to governance and the overall welfare of the people, stating that his ascension to the exalted seat can only be justified through his dedication to serving the people better.
Oba Tolorunleke equally congratulates the Accountant General of the state, Dr. Mrs Habitat, on the victory of Governor Ododo, describing her as a big pillar of support for the state and the Governor.
