Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Nasiru of Kogi State University Kabba Appointed Supervisor for Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-Funded Research
Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Nasiru, the Head of the Department of Political Science at Kogi State University, Kabba, has recently been appointed as the Supervisor of a research project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This prestigious appointment was made by the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies at Bayero University, Kano.
The research project focuses on understanding the influences and behaviors that affect economic and financial decision-making in Northern Nigeria. Given the region’s unique cultural and socio-economic dynamics, the study aims to uncover critical insights that could inform policies and interventions aimed at improving economic outcomes in the area.
Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Nasiru is a highly respected academic and professional within his field. He currently serves on the editorial board of the Kogi Journal of Politics and holds the position of Kogi State Coordinator for the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP). His expertise and dedication to political science and public policy have also earned him a place on the Governing Council of Kogi State University.
Joining Dr. Ibrahim on this important research project are other distinguished scholars from Kogi State University, Kabba. Dr. Onsachi Rahimat Oziohu, a lecturer from the Department of Mathematics, has been appointed as the Facilitator for the Focus Group Discussion, a critical component of the research process. In addition, Margaret Adebimpe Umeche from the Department of Physics, along with Ajayi Oluwaseun Clement and Emmanuel Joshua Anaureyi from the Department of Political Science, will serve as research assistants, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to the project.
The involvement of such a diverse team highlights the interdisciplinary nature of the research, which will draw on political science, mathematics, and physics to provide a comprehensive understanding of economic and financial behaviors in the region.
