Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Congratulates Governor Ododo, Commends Supreme Court Over Verdict
The All Progressive Congress APC chairmanship candidate in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael has applauded the Supreme Court verdict, which affirmed the electoral victory of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the validly elected leader of Kogi State in the November 11, 2023 gubernatorial election.
Zacchaeus described the Supreme Court’s judgment as a reaffirmation of the people’s mandate, which was freely given to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to lead Kogi State from January 27, 2023, to January 27, 2027.
The former caretaker chairman, who expressed his delight at the Supreme Court’s ruling via a press statement issued on Friday by his Campaign Media Director, Omofa John urged the opposition to join hands with the Governor to move the state forward.
He said: “We have reached the final stage of the political journey, which started over eight (8) months ago. Today’s verdict by the Apex Court in Nigeria has ruled and stated unequivocally that Ahmed Usman Ododo is the Governor and Chief Security Officer of Kogi State.
“I will enjoy all Kogites, especially the opposition parties to join the Governor in his desire to take Kogi State to where we want it to be.
“Everyone should contribute their quota for the development of our State because we don’t have any other place we can call home except Kogi.”
The APC flag bearer also applauded the judiciary for standing up for the truth and for protecting the country’s fledgling democracy.
He enjoined Kogites across party divide to team up with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to deliver the real dividends of democracy to Kogites through the “Consolidation Agenda of the incumbent administration, saying the Supreme Court’s verdict is a victory for democracy and the rule of law.
