THE UNFORTUNATE TAKEOVER OF IJUMU APC: A THREAT TO UNITY AND HARMONY

By Benjamin Atitebi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu, Kogi State, is currently facing a crisis that threatens the very fabric of the party’s unity and harmony. The unfortunate takeover of the party’s leadership by a stranger has led to a series of disturbing events that have left genuine APC leaders reeling.

One of the most alarming consequences of this takeover is the lack of unity and harmony among party members. The absence of a cohesive leadership has created an environment where anyone, including members of opposing parties, can contest for positions within the APC. This has led to the absurd situation where a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has not contributed anything to the APC, is contesting for the position of Councilor under the APC platform.

Furthermore, THE DIRECTOR GENERAL ODODO CAMPAIGNS FOR KOGI WEST, who is supposed to have a say in the selection of Local Government (LG) chairmen across the 7 LGs he covers, has been rendered powerless in his own LG. This is a clear indication that the takeover has disrupted the party’s internal dynamics and decision-making processes.

The implications of this crisis are far-reaching and have the potential to undermine the APC’s chances in future elections. It is imperative that the party’s leadership takes immediate action to address this situation and restore unity and harmony among its members. The genuine APC leaders must come together to reclaim their party and ensure that it is led by those who truly have its interests at heart.

In conclusion, the takeover of Ijumu APC by a stranger is a very unfortunate development that has led to a lack of unity and harmony among party members. The party’s leadership must act swiftly to address this crisis and prevent further damage to the party’s reputation and electoral prospects.

God bless kogi state
God bless APC
God bless Ijumu LG.
