Wife of Ijumu Caretaker Chairman Vows To Rehabilitate Women Centre destroyed by Rainstorm in Iyara

Wife of the Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu LGA, Hajia Mrs Hafsat Yomi Haruna on Sunday, 16th June, 2024, visited Women Centre in Iyara destroyed by rainstorm.
Recalled, a heavy rain storm destroyed roofs of many houses in Iyara on the 7th of April, 2024.
Speaking during an on the Spot Assessment of the centre, the wife of the caretaker Chairman expressed regret over the incident and sympathize with the people of Iyara and promised that her office would provide support.
She acknowledged the distressing impact of the disaster and promised to personally pursue its rehabilitation in no distant time.
Hajia Haruna urged the people of Ijumu to plants trees around their homes to serve as windbreaker and protect buildings against damages from strong winds during heavy rain fall.
“We thank God that nobody died, but losing property under this avoidable situation is painful, that is why I wanted our people to embrace tree planting around their houses,” she said.
She was accompanied by the Chief of Staff to the caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Hon Henry Sunday Ibiyeye, and APC Woman Leader Ijumu LGA, Mrs Amupitan Tosin ,supporters and well wishers.
