Ijumu LG Caretaker Chairman Canvasses Support For Gov. Ododo at 2024 Ogidi Day

The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna on Saturday, 15th, June, attended the 2024 Ogidi Day Festival.

The celebration of Ogidi Day Festival
is an annual event, celebrated after the new Yam Festival but this year’s edition is unique as both special events coincided.

The Caretaker Chairman while speaking at the epoch making event attended by Kogi State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara rtd and the State Auditor General for Local Government, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege, said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is consolidating well on the achievements of his Predecessor, hence the need to give him maximum support.

Alh. Haruna, who expressed appreciation to Ogidi Community for their total support to the Governor during his election, urged them to sustain the cooperation and support.

According to him, Governor Ododo is dealing with security issues in the State headlong, saying the same measure being implemented in Ijumu Kingdom.

He pointed out that the heat given to perpetrators of Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara is a clear signal that Kogi is not a safe haven for criminals.

The Caretaker Chairman, while assuring the people of Ijumu of massive infrastructural development, extended his profound gratitude to the Ijumu Traditional Council ably led by His Majesty, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni for playing critical fatherly role in the security of Ijumu Local Government.

He felicitated with the Ologidi of Ogidi, HRM. Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule, leadership of Ogidi Development Union (IDU) as well as Ogidi sons and daughters both at home and diaspora on the auspicious occasion.

The Caretaker Chairman was accompanied by Special Adviser to the Governor on Students and Youths Affairs, Hon. Oladele John Nihi, Cabinet members and teaming supporters.
