Gov. Ododo Commended for Early Payment of Salaries Ahead of Sallah Celebration
The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo has been commended for the early payment of June 2024 salaries to State workers.
The Chairman and CEO of Confluence Newspaper, Hon Solomon Agada made the commendation during a press conference today in Lokoja.
He noted that ,this was the first time in the history of Kogi state that salaries to state workers would be paid as early as on the 14th of the month.
The Publisher maintained that the gesture has brought relief to the beneficiaries, especially the Muslim civil servants who will celebrate Eid-el Kabir.
Hon Solomon Agada
emphasized that, in as much as payment of salaries is the right of workers ,the Kogi state history has not been as good as this era of Governor Ododo.
He urged the governor to continue his good work so as to create a new narrative in the governance of the Confluence state.
He called on the state Government to look into other issues like payment of leave bonuses, provision of car loan and cash backing of promotions, which are already in arrears for years.
According to him, all these privileges if implemented and other incentives will boost the moral of workers in the state.
It could be recalled that Governor Ododo had assured the labour unions in the state during the last May Day celebration of his administration’s determination to improve on the welfare of workers in the State.
Hon Solomon equally used the opportunity to advise the civil servants in the state to reciprocate the gesture by putting in their very best in the areas of service in order to encourage the government to do more.
Hon Solomon Agada wished muslims in the State happy Eid- el Kabir celebration in advance.
