Democracy Day: Kogi declares support for Tinubu’s reforms, policies
As Nigeria celebrates 25 years of uninterrupted democratic governance , Kogi state Government has declared its unalloyed support for President Bola Tinubu on his reforms and policies aimed at moving the country to the promise land.
Speaking during the Kogi Youths Democracy Day celebration held in Government House Lokoja on Wednesday, the state commissioner for information and communication, Kingsley Fanwo, said the current administration led by Tinubu has come with many reforms and policies that will critically addressed the country’s several challenges that have constituted a cog in the wheel of development of Nigeria.
While soliciting support and cooperation of Kogi youth for Tinubu’s administration, the Commissioner for information, urged the youth to follow the template of Governor Usman Ododo , saying “Kogi State Government is in total support of all reforms and developmental policies of the federal government.
“Kogi State is supporting all the reforms and developmental stride of the Renew Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. Therefore we are calling on Kogi youth to support the president to achieve the laudable plans he has for the country.
“We all knows that the president came to power amidst challenges in virtually all sectors , but the steps taken so far shows that he has ideas on how to surmount those challenges” Hon. Fanwo said.
He stated that for Nigeria as a country to be better the youths who represented over sixty percent population of the country need to come out opening to support the government that has plans for the youth, assuring that a lot of policies and programmes of President Tinubu was geared toward youth upliftment from poverty.
Earlier in his welcome address , the organizer of the event and Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on youth affairs, Oladele Niyi , said the theme of the event “Renewed Hope Agenda: Celebrating President Bola Tinubu’s Unprecedented Achievements and Consolidation of Democracy” resonates deeply with the people of Kogi State.
According to him, Kogi State in the last one year administration of President Bola Tinubu, the state has witness positive impact, saying the President’s support has greatly assisted Governor Ododo to achieve many things for the State within his first 100 days in office.
“I want to express our heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support to our Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. Mr. President’s commitment to democracy and the well-being of Nigerians is evident in his tireless efforts to strengthen our nation.
“In Kogi State, we have witnessed the positive impact of President Tinubu’s leadership. His support has been instrumental in our Governor’s achievements which including the successful rescue of kidnapped students from Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara; The payment of gratuity and pension to our esteemed pensioners; Various infrastructure developments and empowerment programmes for our youths” he mentioned .
In his remark, the State Commissioner for youth and sport development Monday Anyebe charged the youths to continue to strive for a nation where their voices are heard and their rights are respected.
While assuring to use his office as commissioner to advance the cause of youth in the state , he urged the youth support Governor Ododo’s administration for prosperous future.
