Kogi State University Kabba Set to Matriculate 1,200 Students and Launch A-Level, Remedial Programs
In a significant stride towards academic excellence, Kogi State University Kabba is poised to matriculate its inaugural batch of 1,200 students, announced Vice Chancellor Professor Kehinde Eniola during a press conference held at the university campus in Kabba on Monday.
Prof. Eniola emphasized that the institution is receiving a surge in applications for various courses, maintaining, however, that the admissions would not exceed the target set by the National Universities Commission (NUC). He expressed commitment to making Kogi State University a premier academic institution, not only nationally but also on the global stage.
From the outset, the Vice Chancellor outlined the university’s vision to nurture students who would gain recognition both nationally and internationally in their respective fields of study. Furthermore, he highlighted the university’s commitment to digitalization in its educational approach.
The management, in collaboration with partners, is actively working to provide affordable accommodation for students, with a paramount focus on ensuring their security on campus. Prof. Eniola commended Governor Yahaya Bello for facilitating the necessary requirements for the smooth establishment of the institution.
Highlighting the academic offerings, the Vice Chancellor revealed that 25 programs have received approval from the National University Commission (NUC). In a bid to extend educational opportunities, the university is set to commence Immediate Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) and Remedial Programs. These initiatives aim to provide an avenue for individuals who fall short of the university’s entry requirement of a 160 cut-off mark.
In a parting word of advice, Prof. Eniola urged students to approach their studies with utmost seriousness, underscoring the university’s commitment to a distinctive approach to both academics and student discipline on campus.
