Kogi State University, Kabba Set to Matriculate Pioneer Students on January 16, 2024

Kogi State University, Kabba is poised to mark a historic milestone on Tuesday, 16th January 2024, as it prepares to matriculate its inaugural set of students. The institution, established by the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, received its charter from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on June 26, 2023.

The matriculation ceremony comes on the heels of the commencement of the 2023/2024 academic session on Monday, 8th January 2024. The university, offering twenty-five (25) bachelor’s degree programs, has adopted a Faculty model that includes Administration, Management, and Social Sciences; Arts & Humanities; and Science & Computing.

The matriculation ceremony is scheduled to commence at 10 AM at the university’s permanent site, and it will be graced by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as the Special Guest of Honour. The event is expected to draw attendance from top government functionaries, royal fathers, heads of other higher institutions, heads of security agencies, parents, guardians, friends of the university, and members of the press.

In a statement signed by Dr. J.U. Amodu, the Registrar of the university, the institution takes the opportunity to assure the matriculating candidates and their well-wishers of the unwavering commitment of the Vice-Chancellor and the entire management team. The university aspires to mold its students into globally competitive, nationally respected, and locally relevant scholars.
