Expose Strangers Perpetrating Insecurity, Ijumu Caretaker Chairman Tells Hausa/Fulani Community

Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Alh. Haruna Ibrahim on Thursday visited the Hausa-Fulani Community in Zango in Iyara.

The meeting focused on seeking support and cooperation of the Hausa and Fulani Leaders in combating insecurity such as kidnapping, banditry and other organised crimes in the Local Government.

Alhaji Haruna while speaking at the meeting, emphasised the need for the Hausa and Fulani groups in the local government to cooperate with the Government to ensure safety of lives and property.

He stressed the need for the leadership of the Hausa-Fulani Communities to clear their names as most crimes are often attributed to them, saying that many incidents are perpetrated by foreigners who infiltrate the Local government.

“Every time there is a kidnapping, the incident is mostly blamed on the Fulani. That is why I deemed it necessary to come here and speak to Fulani leaders about the need to ensure strangers do not come into our local government to perpetrate criminal activities” The Chairman said.

The Caretaker Chairman thanked the Zango Hausa and Fulani community for the warm reception accorded him, enjoined them to always live and do their business without any forms of violence or criminality.

Alhaji Haruna lauded the efforts of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for improving the security architecture of the State down to the local government, saying he’s ready to improve and enhance the safety and security of life and properties in Ijumu Local government Area.

The Leaders of the Fulani in the Zango said that, Fulani here are peace-loving, and as such, they will do everything possible to ensure that strange elements do not come into their domain to carry out criminal activities.

They further commended the efforts of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in providing enabling environment for them to carry out their business and urged the Governor-Elect Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to emulate and build on the legacy of the outgoing Governor.
