Ododo’s Victory: Okun People Voted For Political Liberation, A Better Future And In Appreciation Of GYB Legacies - Abraham Jacob

Permanent Board Member, Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Hon. Jacob Abraham Damilare, has described the overwhelming voting pattern of the Okun People in the just concluded Kogi gubernatorial election as “a vote for political liberation, the future and an obvious way of appreciating the good works of governor Yahaya Bello in Okun land”.

Abraham Jacob who is one of the very passionate and diehard disciples of Governor Yahaya Bello, made this known in Lokoja the capital city while playing host to some youth groups who came visiting him on a congratulatory visit on the just concluded election which produced His Excellency Ahmed Ododo Usman as the Governor-elect as pronounced by INEC.

According to Hon. Abraham Jacob, Governor Yahaya Bello has already laid the foundation for which the victory of the ruling All Progressive Congress was made easier in the state. “Governor Yahaya Bello has put in place all necessary human and infrastructural structures in place in the state and the best way to say a thank you to him is to vote massively for the APC”.

In Kogi West Senatorial District, the Okun Nation which is made up of five local government areas of seven in the district, voted massively in favour of APC because the Party has shown to them the political light they have long been searching for.

“You may recall that the Okun People had three of her sons as candidates of various parties on the ballot yet, the people decided to walk in progress with the party of Governor Yahaya Bello thereby, voting without compromise for Ododo Ahmed Usman to the point where he convincing won four of the five local government areas in Okun Land and six of the seven local government areas in Kogi West Senatorial District”. Abraham noted.

Under the Governor Yahaya Bello’s led administration in Kogi State, the Okun Nation is now blessed with a university sitting in KabbaBunu Local Government, the headquarters of Kogi West, a college of education technical, sitting in Mopa, Mopamuro Local Government Area of Yagba Federal Constituency, a standard and modern day hospital in Yagba East LGA, A Rice Milling Industry in Yagba West LGA amongst many other projects. The least that can be done is to appreciate Governor Yahaya Bello with our votes which we did.

“The Okun People have voted for a better political future and placement in the just concluded gubernatorial election and this choice was a deliberate one. A choice that has obviously drawn us closer to the fulfilment of our dream. It is glaring enough to point that even those who has steadily deceived us, have seen that this bold choice remains a threat to them and to say the least, we are extremely comfortable with our newly found marriage of convenience with this political collaboration.” Abraham reiterated.

Before the election proper, we have read and seen series of endorsement letters in favour of some mushroom parties by those who claim to be stakeholders of Okun and Kogi West but these stakeholders forgot to bore in mind that they are no longer active on the field and the soldiers on the field have a clear idea of what they truly want and this was clearly made known on the ballot and it was in favour of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC. Our people are wiser than even the opposition parties could imagine. The just concluded Kogi gubernatorial election justified this position further.

Abraham Jacob further emphasised that the Okun People are not Political ingrates and jobbers but people who are true to their words, he reassured Governor Yahaya Bello and the Governor elect, Ahmed Usman Ododo of the peoples untiring support at all times. He made boost of the fact that result of the last election is only but one of the winning surprises that the Okun people will spring out, stressing that we still have one more leg to play and that the turnout will be more impressive than the recently concluded one.

Having said the foregone, the APC faithful, admonished political leaders from Okun land and Kogi Western Senatorial District to remain United, driven by one particular goal and watch to see how they will reap the reward for good work from Governor Yahaya Bello who keeps to his words of assurance.
