There was another set back for opposition parties in Yagba west again as Chief (Hon) Pius Kolawole the Executive Chairman of Yagba west local recieves PDP gladiators and their numerous supporters to the ruling All Progressive Congress
No fewer than 200 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Ere/Akata/Oke-Ere ward and some other opposition leaders from other wards
One of arrow head of the defectors, Chief Segun Onilede, the Oluomo of Ere Kingdom who is a PDP chieftain spoke on behalf of other detectors like Chief Onilede Festus Taiye, the Jagunmolu of Ere Kingdom, Chief (Hon) Julius Olugbamiye, fmr, regent of an ancient City of Ogga , Mallam Abubakar Abdulrahaman ,
Mr Funsho Onilede and host of others gladiators and together with their teeming supporters
According to him ” It is pertinent to state clearly that we are defecting to APC to support political ideology and aspiration of our folk as resolved by Neo Yagba West Support Group founded to serve our people at the local level for the attainment of an enviable socio economic development and to support the emergence of Governor from the Central Senatorial District in order to guarantee a renew hope for Okun of the western senatorial district to occupy Lugard’s house in the near future, as the saying that one good turn deserves another”
He pledged their team absolute dedication and greater commitment to compliment the ongoing efforts of party under the credible, responsible and purposeful leadership of Asiwaju Pius Kolawole, the Executive Chairman of Yagba west local government to delivered Yagba West in landslide victory for Ododo/Joel mandate of the ruling All Progressive Congress come November 11th 2023
