FG Approves Pay Increase For Civil Servants On Consolidated Salary Structures

Over N1tn saved since petroleum sponsorship evacuation, says Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu on Monday said the Federal Government of Nigeria has saved N1tn in the two months since the expulsion of the petroleum sponsorship.

“In a little over two months, we have saved over a trillion Naira that would have been squandered on the unproductive fuel subsidy which only benefitted smugglers and fraudsters,” Tinubu stated in his nationwide broadcast on the country’s current economic challenges. These funds, he said, will now be channeled into intervention programs targeting families nationwide.

While recognizing the difficulty occasioned by an undeniable slack in palliative estimates these beyond 62 days, he encouraged Nigerians to “look past the current transitory agonies and focus on the bigger picture.”

“I beg you to kindly have confidence in our capacity to convey and in our anxiety for your prosperity.

“Our great and supportive plans are all underway. Most importantly, I am confident that they will be effective,” he stated.

He said the assets so far saved from appropriation expulsion “will currently be utilized all the more straightforwardly and all the more usefully for yourself as well as your families.”

President Tinubu likewise vowed to get the country out of this financial choppiness through the actions his administration has taken up to this point.
