TAWO E.TAWO SAN. RECEIVES HONORARY CHIEFTAINCY TITLE AT ANNUAL EKINRIN-ADDE DAY EVENT 2023
HRM Olu-Adde of Ekinrin Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu ACA, CON will on the 24th of June 2023, confer an honorary Chieftaincy title of Otunba Agbofinro of Ekinrin Adde on Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Tawo E. Tawo at the 2023 edition of Ekinrin Adde Day Anniversary.
This was made known in a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary of Ekinrin Adde Community Development Association, Mr. Adewale Victor Adekanye while addressing journalists in the early hours of yesterday.
Tawo Eja Tawo, SAN was born on the 6th day of December 1958 in Akparabong, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River. He attended Presbyterian Primary School, Akparabong, Ikom, and Bendeghe Ekiem, Etung LGA between 1964 and 1969.
He proceeded to Government Secondary School Ikom 1971 to 1975 and Mary Knoll Higher School 1979 to 1981 where he got his Senior Secondary School Certificate. He was a Classroom Teacher 1977-1979, after nine (9) months crash program at the St. Thomas Teachers’ Training College, Ogoja, Cross River State.
He also worked as a Clerical/Admin. Officer 1 with National Electric Power Authority Makurdi, 1981 – 1982.Tawo Eja Tawo Esq. SAN, holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB), from the University of Lagos in 1986 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987 upon completion of his professional training as a lawyer from the Nigerian Law School.
He commenced his legal career in law firm of H. S. Usman & Co. Kaduna as a youth Corper in 1987 – 1988 and was retained by the firm upon completion of National Service.
He is the founder/head of Practice, TAWO E. TAWO, SAN & CO., a firm of Legal Practitioners and Arbitrators established in 1991 as Tawo E. Tawo & Co.He was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2014. He is Notary Public, a Fellow Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, FICMC, and a Member Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, MCIArb. (UK).
He has held several positions in the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the professional body of legal practitioners. Member National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2016 – 2020. Chairman Disciplinary Committee Panel B National of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2015 – 2020. Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) observer team for the Osun State Governorship Election 2018.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) for National Officers 2020 who midwifed the 1st NBA election that was streamed live online for the public.
He attended several courses and seminars to enhance and broaden his knowledge. His publications/papers include: The Doctrine of Judicial Notice in the Nigerian Law of Evidence: An Appraisal (Unpublished LL. B Thesis 1986)

Tawo SAN is happily married to Mrs. Queeneth Ekpowan Tawo with four lovely (4) children.
