Gov. Bello’s Resolve, Stakeholders Commitment Responsible for Growth of Education in Kogi – Wemi Jones
Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones says the untiring resolve of Governor Yahaya Bello and commitment of Stakeholders responsible for the growth in the State Education Sector.
The Commissioner stated this while speaking at the m North-Central Human Capital Development Regional Conference at Ladi, Nasarawa State.
According to him, the reduction in the out of school Children in the State among their North counterparts is as a result of the political will demonstrated by the present administration in the State.
He stated that the New Direction Administration upon assumption of office made education one of its thematic agendas and pursued it by involving relevant stakeholders and provision of legal framework as well as policies.
Hon. Jones noted that the development in the Education Sector in Nasarawa State is similar to that of Kogi State.
He pointed that the Ministry of Education under his watch is committed to Reducing Out of School Child in the State.
“Kogi State has the least number of out of school Children rate in Northern Nigeria. And it is because of a group of activities that we consciously and deliberately embarked upon in the State to ensure that we bring down that figure. We’re not there yet but we’re making frantic effort to ensure that we bring out of school Children rate to the barest minimum.”
The Commissioner also added that quality assurance is one of the secrets behind the success story of Governor Yahaya Bello in the education sector that has brought standard and quality to teaching and learning in the State.
