It is no longer a story that House of Assembly members elect collected their certificate of returns today,Our own and first female elected assembly member,Hon. Omotayo Ishaya was fortunately one of them.
The narration that “Hard work pays” is true,I recalled how the struggle started and the strategic roles the Kogi State ALGON Chairman has played in reposing the confidence His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello has placed on him. Immediately after the party primaries,as the leader of the party in the Local Government,He assembled capable and competent campaign team, headed by former Caretaker Chairman of Ijumu Local Government,Hon. Funsho Olumoko to plan,source for funds and ensure our party candidates emerged victorious. Though,this was resisted and backlashed by some self acclaimed leaders.
The Leader of the party,Alh. Taufiq Isa and the campaign team start meeting in Abuja, Lokoja,Kabba, Ijumu to strategize ahead for the D-Day. There was no free period in their time table,all their discussions was always centered on making sure APC wins from top to bottom.
Till the last day before election, Consultations and lobbying was going on in Ayetoro Gbede just for the party to emerge victorious,no doubt for the first time, APC win in Ayetoro/Agrigbon Ward and Ayetoro/Iluhagba Ward. Truly hard work pays.
As I congratulate Hon. Omotayo Ishaya for emerging victorious at the pool,I equally pray you did not disappoint yourself by betraying the trust the party has bestowed on you. Furthermore, I want to advice you make consultations before carrying out plans,carry the critical stakeholders along,pick peoples calls or revert back when you are less busy,do not promise what you cannot do (it might hunt you one day), represent the females well ( you are now their ambassador) and always try to be in touch with others.
Lastly, I want to commend Alh. Shuaib Ipinmisho,Mr. Richard Osaseyi,Dr. Femi Fasagba, Comrade Ade Ismail,Mr. Idris Mayowa and others who agreed to form the campaign team from inception.
