FAMILY MEMBER CRY OUT FOR JUSTICE FOR THEIR SON BABATUNDE AYODELE

Dear sir,

Open letter to The Inspector  General of Nigeria Police,

I am writing you with heart full of pain and sadness about the demise of a beloved Husband, Uncle, Brother and Friend.  Babatunde Ayodele. An officer of NIgeria Civil Defense, who left his family in Akure Ondo state for his place of primary assignment at Ore in same Ondo state in the evening of Thursday being 16th of March 2023, and decided to sleep over at  Ronke Tayo Hotel, Along Okitipupa road Ore Ondo state NIgeria., and proceed to office (civil defense office)  to resume duty the next morning, as it was already late.

Babatunde on arrival to Ore and after checking into the aforementioned hotel,  put calls to few people including his wife to notify them of his movement and the reason he couldn’t proceed to his final destination that night. In the early hour of Friday being 17th of March 2023,  same Babatunde Ayodele called his wife  and few others to informed them of his intention to proceed with his journey to the office.

Few minutes later from his calls to the above people. His family in Akure got another call telling them of Babatunde’s sudden death.

Responding to the shocking and sad news, his family immediately mobilized others to journey to Ore in their quest to confirm the authenticity of the shocking news.

On arrival,  no one, not even the hotelier could give account of what happened to Babatunde nor incident  the case to the authority.

On arrival of the scene,  Babatunde family immediately,  knew something was amiss as the lifeless body was in awkward position and a bottle of sniper was positioned on top of the Television set in the room to make it look like Babatunde committed suicide.

This was someone who was at peace with both family, friends but  not sure of his colleagues at work.

Photos on his phone, last calls and others  pointed out that Babatunde Ayodele’s death was a pre-planned one and was murdered.

On this premise, we seek the intervention of the Inspector General of Nigeria Police to instruct the Commissioner of Police in Ondo state to as a matter of urgency,  commence investigation on Babatunde Ayodele’s cause of death.

It was unfortunate that the Civil defense of Ondo state in which Babatunde Ayodele died in line of duty to, is doing nothing to investigate the obvious cause of its officer’s murder as at the time of putting this open letter together sir.

Hence, we seek that you use the power of your office to intervene and investigate the gruesome murder of our Brother and Friend as soon as you can.  And  bring the perpetrators to book.

Sincerely yours,

Babatunde Ayodele Family and Friends
