APC Yagba Federal Constituency Campaign Council Replies Garrulous Elder Leke Abejide.
In what appears to be likened to a sinking man looking for whom to grab along, Elder Leke Abejide has once again displayed arrogance in the face of obvious looming defeat ahead.
Elder Leke Abejide rather than responding to key points raised which bothers on accountability and integrity on his personality, he is busy chasing clout and calling names.
For the records, the APC campaign council in Yagba Federal Constituency barely raised observations on the need to be accountable to the people he is representing. The council was not also wrong in positing that Elder Leke Abejide lacks integrity based on his antecedents of tagging ” public funds” as his personal funds. He is quick to tell the people that whatever he is doing for the people is from his private pockets knowing fully well that all projects executed by him are funded from budgetary provisions of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Looking at his “unparliamentary” response to the issues raised where he said ” When I flagged-off the construction of the roads our people were there, so if anyone wants to lie, pictures and videos cannot lie. They should show me where the President or the Governor did the flag off of the road! President Buhari does not even know the road exist. And as we speak the State Government is yet to support me on the Road project”.
We are curious to ask why should any Government support Elder Leke Abejide for a project duly budgeted and paid for by the Federal Government? We are also wondering how on earth Elder Leke Abejide as a rep member corner a road contract to himself and flagged off same. It is grossly an act of irresponsibility for him to errorniously talk in such uncomplimentary manner. It is also an indictment on the failure of the outgoing rep member to say that president buhari does not even know that the road exists. He has been a sleeping rep member whose only business in the house is to lobby for personal contracts to garnish his pockets.
On the issue of capacity, competence and other absent attributes that the outgoing rep member ascribed to himself, we will like to state that development and competence is not permanently situated in the pocket of one person. It is a virtue that all yagba sons and daughters carry. Elder Leke should stop playing the position of God as he is not one.
It is worrisome that a rep member that has never in the past called for a constituency briefing will be on media talking about how he influenced the road into a certain budget in 2020, 2021 and 2022. This obviously have laid credence to our earlier position that the said road is a Federally funded road and not the project of Elder Leke Abejide.
On the Achievements of the APC in the last couple of years in yagba Federal Constituency, the council listed the various projects and interventions of the APC led administration in the state as follows:
1. The Confluence Rice Mill in Ejiba, Yagba West LGA.
2. The Almost completed General Hospital Complex in Isanlu, Yagba East LGA.
3. The recently established Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme that captured thousands of persons across Yagba federal Constituency which covers strategic areas such as maternal and child health care.
4. The Bello Cares Post Covid Enterprise funds disbursed to various Kogites with inclusion of sons and daughters of Yagba land.
5. The Various renovations carried out in the various primary schools in Yagba land under the SUBEB funded intervention funds.
6. Employement of several yagba sons and daughters in various State establishments like the Kogi State internal revenue service, the Kogi state polytechnic, the Kogi state college of education technical kabba and in the state judiciary.
7. In terms of appointments, the APC led administration have shown great benevolence to the zone by considering sons and daughters of the zone in various political offices. The Secretary to the state government, the Honourable commissioner for Finance , the Honourable commissioner for information, the special adviser to the Governor on youths and students affairs, the Special adviser to the governor on special duties, the special adviser to the governor on culture and tourism and a handful of senior special assistants and board members.
8. The recently concluded recruitment excerise into the state teaching service captured several sons and daughters of Yagba extraction.
9. The state government under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello trained and empowered the state vigilante services whose members are represented in the 21 Local Government of the state including Yagba land to maintain security and secure the lives of the people.
We strongly advise the outgoing reps member to be humble in anticipation of the defeat ahead of him. His threats of violence and mayhem should he loose the coming elections have been noted and reported to relevant authorities. The APC is a peace loving party that shall continue to preach love and oneness but shall continue to point out truth where distortion of facts exists.
